Garmin users can now use Garmin Pay to pay for public transport in Singapore
Singapore, 12 December 2019 – Garmin users can now pay for bus and train rides using Garmin Pay, a contactless payment solution designed for people who are always on the move.
As part of a partnership with OCBC Bank, Garmin users can link their OCBC MasterCard® or Visa® credit or debit cards to their Garmin Pay Wallet in their compatible smartwatches and tap the fare gantries or card readers to pay for their transport or make purchases with a turn of their wrist.
“We aim to make our Garmin smartwatches an important part of our users’ everyday lives by allowing them to stay connected and providing the ease of convenience. We are excited to be a part of LTA’s SimplyGo initiative which will further bring more convenience to users in Singapore,” said Mr. Engelhard (Al) Sundoro, Managing Director, Garmin South Asia and India.
Garmin Pay is available on the latest Venu and fēnix 6 series.
Venu
Venu features a 1.2” AMOLED screen and is available in black with gold hardware, light sand with rose gold hardware, granite blue with silver hardware, and black with slate hardware. It features an impressive battery life of up to five days in smartwatch mode, and up to six hours in GPS + music mode. Working out at home with the Venu is so much more fun over 40 on-device animated workouts for strength training, cardio, yoga and Pilates.
fēnix 6 Series – Pro & Sapphire
The fēnix 6 and fēnix 6X multisport GPS watches are constructed for a trimmer, more comfortable fit on the wrist, while increasing the display size to 1.3’’ and 1.4’’ respectively from the existing fēnix 5 Plus series. In addition to bigger display sizes, Garmin has introduced new QuickFitTM nylon bands and silicone colors. Sapphire editions add the quality and durability of a scratch-resistant sapphire lens and other high-performance premium materials.
fēnix 6X Pro Solar
Fit for performance, the fēnix 6X, and fēnix 6X Pro Solar features a rugged, sophisticated design with a large 1.4” sunlight-readable display, which is 36 percent bigger than previous fēnix 5X models. As the first Garmin GPS watch to include a solar charging function within the Power Manager feature, the fēnix 6X Pro Solar edition is designed with Power GlassTM, a transparent solar charging lens that uses the sun’s energy to extend battery life. Because of its unique solar charging technology, users will have more on-wrist time to enjoy their activities, training features, colour mapping, music streaming and much more.
